New page

To minimize interference in an ad-hoc network all nodes shoudl use the minimum amount of power required to achieve a stable link. Due to the fact that nodes talk to a multiple number of other nodes, it is difficult to decide where this optimum point would be. Some clue could be gained from theory which states that the optimal throughput in a dense mesh will be achieved when, on average, a node can only see 6 other nodes. So the power could be tuned until this condition is reached. But it may also be possible to adjust the power dynamically as packets need to be sent to near or distant nodes.
Kingdavid
